For sale is a vintage Contax IIIa rangefinder camera. Serial number is L77829. It was manufactured in the city of Stuttgart, West Germany, in 1958. It has color shutter speed dial That means that it can be used with electronic flash without any special synchronization cord. The camera was made to be sold in USA: It has 1/4" threads adapter screwed in 3/8" European tripod nut socket and fixed with a set screw. It also has a distance scale marked in feet and film speed is marked in ASA. The camera is coming with a take-up spool. It is in clean condition in and out. There is no dirt, dust, corrosion, brassing, dents or scratches on it. There are some tiny usage marks on accessory shoe.
I tested it: Shutter is working as it should at slow and fast speeds. Shutter curtains look perfect. Shutter cocking is performed easily without any effort. I also checked a performance of shutter curtains with removed back door and looking against light. The curtains perform as they should at all speeds, including 1/1250 and film frame is fully visible.
Rangefinder and viewfinder look clean without any traces of dirt or dust inside.Second image is clearly visible. Focusing mechanism moves easily. Self timer works perfectly. Rear door locks work OK. Please, look at my pictures.
Light meter works and its needle normally reacts on light changes. I compared its with my Lunasix exposure meter. It  looks like its readings should be increased 1-1.5 points. It is normal. I also checked its operation with a flash. it works OK.
