Pictured
here at auction is a working Kenwood TS-520SE, 160-10 meter SSB and CW,
100-watt transceiver for the regular (non-WARC) amateur/ham bands. This
rig has a pair of Sylvania 6146B finals that easily generate 100
watts out to a 50-ohm dummy load; slightly less on 10 meters- typical of
the hybrids. I made a few phone contacts with it on 80, 40, and 20 meters and received
very good reports. Audio on receive is good too. It DOES have the optional CW
filter as can be seen in the photo.
The rig has had the most essential and important capacitors replaced with new ones, that is, those capacitors directly part of the power supply- a real plus.
Cosmetically, the cover shows scratches and some rust. The side cover has two holes in it where I removed a mic holder placed there by a previous owner. The plastic clips holding this cover are new. The VFO shorting plug is an authentic-looking reproduction that I manufacture with my 3-D printer.
The
side carrying handle is in good condition. The lamps over the s-meter work.
There is no microphone nor manual
included. Manuals can be downloaded from several sources for free
on-line. It does include the original power cord.
I do not ship to locations outside the United States except through the global shipping program.
Since
it is an older, used piece of equipment, I cannot offer a money-back
guarantee/return. Shipping has been based on a 40-pound, total weight
package USPS ground. I will insure the rig to full auction value at no
extra cost to the buyer.
