These wood replacement bayonet grips are an excellent choice for returning your M1905 bayonet back to it's original issue condition.  All of the M1905 bayonets made between 1906 and 1922 came with walnut grips.  So, if you intend on returning your bayonet to it's original glory, these grips are an excellent replacement.  For a more authentic, aged look, the grooves that are scored into to grips can be sanded down prior to fitting the grips to the handle.  I have had great success in doing this to the many bayonets I have restored.  So, in the event you do not have the original grips on your blade, and most of them do not, these grips are an acceptable replacement.

Due to a customer's concern on fitting these grips correctly, I decide to fit another grip to the bayonet.  I started with a grip that did not fit correctly, typical, and with a small file, had it properly fitted in 11 minutes. As you can see from the picture, this is what it looks like.

Note: some sanding to fit the grips to the handle may be required and can usually be done within 10-15 min. time frame.
