• Please read entire description before bidding.   Please note that Ebay Shipping estimates may be incorrect.   Actual shipping costs are:  US = $30, Canada = $40, Europe = $55.  Please note Shipping quotes and Items NOT Included, listed below.

  • Please note that it is over 100 years old.  And is complete with all patches and insignia to include Victory Medal and Ribbon. It shows wear and could use a good cleaning.  The tunic has some minor repairs and some noticeable staining.  The breeches have a large patch on seat of pants.  The leather of the puttees and Sam Browne Belt is dry and fragile.

  • This auction is for a complete uniform for a Lieutenant assigned to the Signal Corps in the US 79th Infantry Division, AEF.  The uniform includes matching tunic and breeches with all insignia and patches intact.  The material in the tunic is strong and stitching is tight. There are some minor field repairs to the tunic, and there is some noticeable staining on the front of the tunic and a large patch to the seat of the pants/breeches.  These are the main detractors to this grouping.

  • Otherwise, the set has sewn on 1st Lieutenant bars on the shoulders, pin-on crossed Signal Corps flags and US insignia on the collar.  They are all in used, but nice condition.  It also has a wool felt 79th Division patch on the shoulder, a red discharge stripe and two overseas stripes on the sleeve.   The officer cuff braid is present.  The breeches button at the fly and at the calves, and some buttons are missing.  The material is strong, but does have some minor repairs and the large repair to the seat as previously mentioned.

  • The Victory Medal and ribbon are intact and show wear. Both have their mounting pins intact. The Sam Browne belt is complete, but shows extreme wear and the leather is very dry and fragile. It does have the  trench whistle with leather lanyard sewn into the cross-strap, these are very hard to find and in good condition.  The leather puttees are also in dry and fragile condition.  This grouping is complete and collectable mainly due to it being so complete.  It could use a good cleaning.

  •  In all, I would rate it as Fair, mainly due to the stains on the tunic and repair to the breeches.  Take a good look at the pictures.   This set is sold "as is" and with no returns.

  • Please note that SHIPPING COSTS are as noted:   US = $30. Canada = $40 and Europe = $55.    Items not include are the khaki breeches displayed on the mannequin and the mannequin itself.   No returns on this group and sold "as is".
