Dear Collector, my name is Daniel Gabriel Angelo Jean-Baptiste, I am the artist and I am thrilled to introduce you to my unique paint style on silk. I am a lifelong, self-taught artist who has developed a style of painting which has never existed before. My art brings the beauty of the tropical seas and forest into your home and business place. My creations express my love for the living and I hope I can share this with you.

The style that I use I call the "Shimmering Light Water Technique". This striking painting style was accidentally discovered when in late 1996 in Choiseul, St. Lucia when his three-year-old Daughter Helen innocently spilled a cup of water on a painting in progress. What looked like a disaster turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The wet painting dried into a finish of complex textured and mixed colors which were just so different and out of this world. This unique batik style on silk had been transformed by this one mishap and has evolved into what is today one of the most unique and identifiable painting styles.

This 30'h x 40"w is #2 of a 10 painting series on high-quality 10mm Habotai silk using water-based silk paints and a water-based wax resist. The piece is sold as an unframed rolled textile packed inside a sealed mailing tube with a signed certificate of authenticity.

I need one week to paint this #2 study of "LOTUS POND", the finish will be close to the image in this listing. Should you wish I could alter the colors and the design to suit your decorative needs.

This painting is best shown framed behind glass much like you would a watercolor painting that was done cotton rag.

Painting out of studios in Saint Lucia and Canada.
