Select Australia had released 351 cases ( 2106 boxes) of 2017 AFL FOOTY STARS STARTER PACKS. Each Starter pack is a plastic sealed unit that contains 3 regular packs of cards + 1 PURPLE STARBURST BONUS CARD.

Each factory case includes 120 Starter Packs ( inc 120 Purple starburst cards). As only 351 cases released, the production run of  2017 AFL FOOTY STARS PURPLE STARBURST SET is only 600. Most of these Starter packs were sold in various retail outlets, the full sets of PURPLE STARBURST are really hard to find.

Given time, the PURPLE version will be harder to find than the GREEN version  due to the difference in the production quantity, but initially, it is other way around  as every STARTER pack ( 3 normal packs) will deliver 1 PURPLE STARBURST card, but  Green Starburst is 1: 12 packs on average to find one GREEN starburst card.
