DESCRIPTION

Staffordshire house with a crime interest theme which features Stanfield Hall, stood on an oval base. The piece is titled, 'Stanfield Hall' . Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt title and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents Stanfield Hall which was the seat of the late Mr Jermy, who was assassinated November 28th 1848. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 274, figure 3147.

CONDITION

Generally good. Some small flakes to shredded clay and one window. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing. RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched crack to front and reverse. Retouched paint loss to both chimneys. One chimney reglued and join retouched.
