2002 Select AFL Brisbane Premiership Limited Edition Card + Predictor Card

History Review.

Select Australia has released 16 AFL Premiership Predictor cards in each AFL season between 1997 to 2009. These predictor cards are randomly inserted in the packs, odds: 1 predictor card per box, 16 teams' Predictor cards are available.

If the team won the premiership in the last weekend of September, you can redeem the winnig team's Predictor card for a limited edition AFL Premiership card. As only 1 predictor card per box, and 16 teams are available, the chance of geeting the correct Predictor card is 1: 16 boxes. This odds imply the rarity of the redeemed limited edition premiership card.

Betwween 1997 to 2001, the winning predictor card will redeem one limited edition premiership card. From 2002 Select AFL exclusive to 2009 AFL Pinnacle, the winning Predictor card will redeem a limited edition 3-card mini set.

From 2010 AFL Prestige to 2013 AFL AFL Prime, Select has released just one AFL PREMIERSHIP REDEMPTION card instead of 16 AFL Premiership Predictor cards. The redemption card stll redeem a limited edition 3- card set.

The Significance-

Most AFL card collectors aware that Select has released AFL/VFL Premiership commemorative card series-- a 100 card series from 1996 AFL Premiership going backwards to the first VFL Premiership, 1897 Essendon Premiership. But what about the premiership card after 1996? Those AFL Premiership Predictor cards are the equivalent to the AFL/VFL Premiership Commemorative cards. The only difference is: The premiership card from 1997 Adelaide to 2013 Hawthorn are much harder to get as it requires a minimum 16 boxes on average to get one correct Predictor card or Premership Redemption card.

To all collectors who collect AFL/ VFL Premiership card collection, the AFL Premiership card after 1997 is the continuation of your 100- card AFL/VFL Premiership Commemorative card set. These redeemed Premiership Predictor cards are very hard to find.
