Very Good / Very Good. ISBN: 0840741162. Clean text. Appears unread. Nice straight spine with tight binding. Uniform toning to the edges of the text block with a touch of wear to the board edges. Black boards with black spine and gold spine lettering in fine condition. Dust jacket not price clipped. Some mild shelf wear and rubbing to the front panel, two small closed tears to the rear with a crease to the top edger. Presents nicely in new archival mylar cover. Uncommon signed copy.

Provenance
I spend a great deal of time writing to authors in order to get books
signed, and in doing so I also include in every letter a Typescript of a favorite or
well-known work with a self-addressed full document sized envelope. Some
authors will no longer sign works or don’t want to be bothered with packaging and
returning volumes (understandably) However on most occasions the fact that they
have something right in front of them that only takes a quick signature and a
prepaid envelope for return means that I will at least get something back - if not
permission to send any books. Thankfully, on most occasions the opposite is true,
and I am able to send off books to be signed and do not have to use the typescript
as a ‘lay in’ for a 1st edition. I will also take typescripts to book signings as on
occasion I like to have them framed. *NOTE* Please be aware that any return
letters, materials that I have from the authors are NOT included in the auction. For
the reasons stated above many not only relate to the original returned typescript
but also to other items I have subsequently received. Many also constitute
personal correspondence between the authors and myself and contain private
information such as the author’s home addresses etc.
