I also have some sound samples of A5 STRAT, TELE'S AND HUMBUCKERS that I can send you via "WETRANSFER" ask and I can send you samples
Dear chrisher!,
I finally got them installed. Neck and middle are
slightly hotter than traditional, without the excess mids like Texas Specials.
Bridge pickup is a great match, thanks for the suggestion. They retain all the
clarity of the best strat pickups, with a little more substance. This is a
great set of pickups!!
I wish you all the best, it's cool to see something
handmade at an affordable price!!

Hey Chris – sorry it took so long to
get back to you, but this set completely changed the guitar from not much more
than an expensive toy with the Variax effects to one that sounds killer with
the
effects off and just running your
PU’s.
I’ll probably be ordering another set
of 3 single coils soon. I’m going to pick up an old G&L Legacy and if
the PU’s do not impress me, let’s see what you can come up with. My
G&L with the AL-2 set is my favorite, but I would obviously want to see what
else you could do to get a big, meaty sound as a comparison to the sweetness of
the AL-2’s.
Thanks again
Steve C
Hi Chris
As promised here is my feedback on the last set
(A2, non-RWRP, with baseplate etc...)
Keep the specs of these in your books : there are
fantastic.
•
Basses are round, clean, and they are there... who
said that A2 is a week magnet
•
Mediums are there, they are present and in a good
quantity
•
Treble... yes plenty of them, clean, crisp, maybe a
bit too much.
P.S. I have used a 0.01µF tone cap (I use 0.05µF
usually) and I’m very much satisfied with the result.
One pic of the assembled guitar.
Thanks again Chris. Nisso
Yes, I've had some of your pickups before, loved
em, love the flexibility and flatwork choice and magnet choice, your my go to
for Strats, but I havent built any Casters for ages as my workshop has been out
of commission, mainly because I had to get a complete new roof and then get all
the kit back in and reinstalled. I just don't get the time I used to.
How do Jag pickups differ from Strat pickups, lower
wind and the metal surround? Size still the same?
Cheers man
Sean
Hi Chris,
Got some tele pups from you in March
and finally got them installed fortnight ago. Really happy with the sound and
your recommendations. Thanks a heap.
Now onto my latest project – Japan
Squier Strat ‘94 Silver Series. I am a massive Pink Floyd – therefore David
Gilmour fan. I believe he uses Vintage pups. Not sure if it’s important but I
will set these up with standard config on a 5 way switch but will add a pull
pot(s) to allow all 3 pups and also just a neck and bridge option also. Also I
only play with all pots dimed, so I’m not one to be fiddling with nobs much.
What do you recommend/thoughts?
Cheers
Mark
Hey Chris,
Just letting you know, the pickups are great. Been
loving my strat more than ever. If I ever need another set, I'll be sure to get
in touch. Best, Michael

Really impressed with the
pickups. They delivered a big, clean, clear and yes -- twangy -- sound. Well
defined, and well matched. Played nice with my Fender amp. I realized my string
action is probably a little low, so I am going to tinker a bit more. Very
enthused though, and very appreciative!

Thanks, Chris!

Hey Chris these pickups are great! If I had a
tail it would surely be wagging!
Thanks,

Hi Chris I just wanted to let you know that I
installed the middle pickup today and it sounds great, so I wanted to tell you
how happy I am with both your pickups and the wonderful service you have given
me.
Kind regards,
John
Thank you Chris I WILL definitely be back for
more and I've already started telling my friends about you so I hope some more
orders come your way.
Thanks again mate,
John
Hey Chris!
Well I guess we're all done! the magnetising
went through with no issues. My soldering isn't too bad either! :-)
The pickups sound GREAT. They're v-e-r-y
different to the originals, each pickup has a sound very different to the
others, and they work very well together. I'll try them with my other amp and some of my pedals and see
how they like their new home in my Strat. I'm hoping my VHT amp (Special 6
combo) will make them sparkle a bit more, especially on the in-between
settings. My Bugera amp seems to making them sound a little dull. Regardless,
I'm liking 'em!
I recorded a demo with the stock Fender pickups
and I'll do a similar demo of these one evening this week and stick it on my
Youtube channel. You deserve some advertising and I'll do what little I can!
So all in all I'm another happy customer, and
THANK SO MUCH for the first class customer service!
Cheers!!!
Dave
Dear chrisher!,
I am in the process of installing them now but I
just wanted to say, thanks! these pick-ups are phenomenal--everything is
exactly what I wanted. I am going to make an instructional youtube video and
will recommend you to my friends.
Thanks

Dear chrisher!,
Thanks for the pickups, they look fantastic!
Unfortunately it will be a little while before I get the body/neck for my build

Chris, so far, so good! I'm really
impressed. I got it back from the shop on Saturday and blasted away for a few
hours. They restrung the Tokai with 9's, not my usual 11's, so I am not at full
strength. But the sound of the guitar was super clean and beefy, as promised.
I'm really enthused, and am going to restring tonight and test it out in a pair
of upcoming gigs.
You do great work! I'll report back
with more detail after the gigs.
Thanks so much, Chris!

Hey my guitar tech Jason said he loved
the tele pickups he is Sony Landreth's guitar tech. The slide guitar man
Dear chrisher!,
Hey Chris, These are some great pickups, thanks.
Took me a while to get them in a guitar then find a good cap to install, but
finally did. These are full of tone and sustain, love them. You need to keep
the spec's on these when offering the # 5 magnetic setup. Again couldn't be
happier. Giles

installed the pickups you made in for me in my '93 Fender Am. Std. Tele today;
let me say that I?m mad at myself for putting up with mediocre sound for so
long. Your pickups are awesome! My Tele is a totally new guitar, many thanks!

Hi Chris,
-
-
I bought a set of strat replacements
early last year from you and put them in a strat clone by Legacy.
They were wound to a 1962-ish spec.
-
The thread about the mods was posted
at www.agileguitarforums.com.
-
Hope that rings a bell! Well, I
have been so pleased with that set that I am looking to see if you can wind a
set for the Legacy Tele clone I bought from them in December.
-
Just wondering what you have or
suggest to upgrade the ceramics in this tele. I want to retain the tele
twang on the bridge, but want to get it close to a 60’s era tele sound if
possible.
-
Again, appreciate any info!

- Hey
Chris!
-
- I just
got done listening to the clips. Those pups sound prettttty sweet!
- What
magnet poles or magnet-numbers did you use for each pole, in each
pup? What magnets did you use for neck and middle? Bridge?
-
- By the
way, the N-M position clip sounds very "CCR-ish" and the B
position sounds like "Shadows-on-steroids-twangy leads" ,
maybe even B-52's new wave (under the right settings). Nice nice!
-
- Actually,
the N-M position could also pass off as a Beatles-sque jangly chime, just
imagine that through alnico blues (or golds), and crank the TB channel.
-
- The M-B
position has the classic "quack", but I can just imagine that under
the right amp settings and guitar settings; one can make a pretty nice VU
"Venus in Furs" or even "Tomorrow's Parties" tone.
Actually, I just discovered that one of the VU members played a Fender Strat in
the first two albums, not sure which year or edition though...so that pretty
much solved the "early recordings" mystery. The player did use the Vox
Phantom a bit later though, maybe during '68-69-ish.
-
- Ok,
thanks for those awesome clips, really appreciate the help.
-
- Best,
-
- Chris
Dear chrisher!,
Hey Chris. It's me again Giles. Really like the set
you made me earlier with the # 3 magnets and decided to order another set from
you. I am interested in the SRV/Hendricks set you talk about in the ad. Let's
talk and work out the needed information and details, ok. koomey53

- Dear chrisher!,
-
- Hi Chris,
here is my feedback on your pickups. I have installed them on a lightweight
swamp ash body (from MJT aged guitars) and maple neck strat. It is the best
combination that I have built up to now, very resonant and fantastic sustain.
- Now for
the PUs : in summary they are excellent. More on treble and mid side, weaker
low end. Very clean (on a vintage Deluxe Reverb). The in-between positions
(non-RWRP) are the best I have heard up to now (and I have heard a lot). The
bridge PU (6.2K) is a bit on the icy side (I would swap it with the neck
position but I dont have enough wire).
- That's it
my friend. The options we took were perfect and Alnico 2 was a good choice too.
Highly recommended.
- Best regards
- Nisso

My name is Isa, I'm from the Netherlands and
have the '74 strat
(with your pickups) Nils Bryant bought last
month. I have to say, really great pickups.
- Tried by a lot of my musician-friends over here in Amsterdam and got a lot of people interested
Just wanted to let you know
that I finally got that guitar together. The pickups you wound for me sound
great! They are just what I wanted, tone-wise. That mixed magnet idea is a real
gem. Thanks very much. Very happy! LEE
Wow, that's amazing. Thanks for such a
quick turnaround. This will make 3 of my guitars outfitted with your
pickups. These are immeasurably better than any Fender, Dimarzio , Gibson
or Duncan product and I have been through plenty of those. You rock, dude
- thanks again and all the best to you.

Dear chrisher!,
Hi Chris, IV installed your pickups and I am happy
with them! They are very throaty with quack at the same time! The neck pickup
tone turned down surprisingly yields great jazz sounds. The grey bobbins are
really nice, too bad the are underneath. Heehee. I played them like and the
sound is big. The overdrive level peaks out at high level volumes but I expect
this to change as the pickups get older. The shuts at vol8 start kicking into
ovrdeive while wound 4 sounds are still cleaner. I feel like wine the pickups
get better with age. Im am also using an inferior type .1 cap that I expect to
change in a few days. Chris thank you, I am happy with these and plan to order
a Tele set in the future! Take care and will keep in touch. Regards, gabe

value your 2 cents. Those #5 magnet pickups you sold me lately are killer
badass. You never told me whether you made them like the lollar one or not but
they are a treasure for me.

-
- Chris, I
gotta tell you: these.mp3s are phenomenal. Let's catch up for a chat sometime
soon. I'm in for a neck humbucker for sure, and 80% on a set of Strat pickups.
I think I might just need to try/listen to a few more to feel a bit more
confident.

Dear chrisher!,
Chris,
Wanted to drop a line and let you know that I got
the upgrades done and finally got a chance to hear them. Well, I'm pretty
impressed. Huge improvement over the stock pups, and the neck and bridge are
fantastic. Really impressed with the neck--what a great tone! Nice clear
blues tone, and fantastic when dirtied up. Bridge has great clarity and
plenty of clean bite without the ice pick tone. Will scream when driven.
Middle is perfect complement to those two, and has good chunkiness alone.
Second--they are very quiet as well. Really impressed, and very satisfied
customer here! Best Regards from Texas!
