Examples of this are the patented valve system that reduces clogging and allows the user to replace the diaphragm flappers (if needed). In addition, the leather cups are cut 1/16th less than the diameter of the plunger tube, which allows the cups to absorb water and swell to make a tight seal that is self-lubricated by the water.
