Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of parisite from this seldom referenced Mexican locale!!! This specimen hosts a fantastic group of sharp, highly translucent
parisite crytsals set on cluster of lustrous calcite crystals with complex pinkish crystals of monazite, all set atop a sharp single quartz crystal!!! There are
also fibrous and very fine, hair-like crystals of schorl tourmaline both included within the quartz and scattered throughout the other crystals - and there is also
some muscovite and pyrite in minor association as well!!! The parisite crystals are present as sharply defined hexagonal prisms that exhibit marked luster and
translucence with rich amber color!!! The crystals exhibit some highly complex crystalline detail upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, and are much more
sharply defined than the pics show!!! The parisite crystals range in size to nearly 9mm!!! The monazite crystals are present as pinkish aggregate crystals that
are fascinating upon close inspection with a loupe or scope!!! This specimen is complete and undamaged!!! This is an extraordinary example of the species for the locality - and for Mexico in general!!!
This specimen is from the noted collection of Martin Jensen and retains its original label (that notes the following as well -
"self collected on 10 Feb. 1996, idents verified by SEM w/EDS on 26 Feb 1996 and XRD by Andy Roberts, Geol. Surv. of Canada on 08 March 1996.")!!! Don't miss out
on this rare and significant Mexican specimen!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
