Pictured here at auction is a working, ready-for-use Swan 1200-X linear amplifier for use on the 80-10 meter amateur/ham bands. I have been using this amp for the last few years and only recently have upgraded to a newer linear.

The cabinet has faded. The cabinet screws are likely not original, but work just fine.

The 1200-X, at least this one, uses 4- 8950 sweep tubes. I tested this unit just before listing it and conclude it puts out only around 200-250 watts using 100 watts drive from my Kenwood TS-520. Obviously, this is not a huge amount of amplification as is, but it certainly gave me just a little bit more power than "barefoot". I feel like a cooling fan should be added, but since I operated for only short intervals on phone and never CW, I did not install one.

I understand this amplifier could be modified without too much difficulty to using 6LB6 sweep tubes. Look for details on-line.I do have a tube tester, but it will not test 8950's.

This unit is wired for use using 120 VAC.

I cannot offer a money-back guarantee or refund on a unit this old.

I do not ship to locations outside the United States except using the Global Shipping Program.

Shipping has been estimated using a 27-pound total weight package amount. The rig itself weighs approximately 23 pounds.
