John Quick was a 17th-century
Anglican preacher known for his Puritan sermons and association with French
Huguenot refugees. Many of these refugees fled from French rule and landed in
England near Plymouth. It was from these events that Quick wrote ‘Synodicon in
Gallia Reformata’ – a collection of liturgical texts used by the Huguenots in
late 17th-century England.
This volume from the 1692 first edition
features an impressive double frontispiece: a portrait of Quick and a full-page
view of the Synod gathering.
