1942
is a historical Series 120 Game of the Japanese attacks which began the Pacific phase of World War II. The 17 by 22 inch game map shows Malaya, Java and the Philippines where the battles were fought, while the 120 die-cut counters present the regimental and division level forces involved. The Rules booklet contains complete instructions and charts for play of the gam. Recommended for ages 12 to adult.
The Japanese began their full-scale campaign in the Pacific in December of 1941 with simultaneous attacks on Pearl Harbor, the Philippine Islands, Malaya, and Hong Kong. The plan was to seize the entire southern region from Burma to the Philippines in a bold, swift operation, and then hold the area as a resource for the homeland. 1942 is a chronicle of the military events involved in the Japanese campaign against Malaya, Java, and the Philippines. The game covers the initial Japanese attacks and the succeeding operations against the allied-held areas.
