Demyansk Pocketis a game depicting the Soviet offensives in late 1941/early 1942 attempting to pinch off and destroy the German units occupying the Demyansk Pocket located south of Leningrad. Extreme tenacity coupled with an unprecedented air-suppy effort enabled the trapped Germans to hold on until they could break out. The airlift which sustained the German units inside the Demyansk Pocket caused Hitler to mistakenly believe that surrounded forces like this could always be supplied by air, a conclusion that was to cost Germany dearly at Stalingrad later in 1942.
