I have a personal interest in this superb large watercolour.     Dick Leech and i were officers in the same regiment in Aden during the troubles there in the late 1960s.   I was up country whilst he was in Aden city.    He was very severaly wounded in an ambush and had subsequently to leave the Army.     Fortunately he was already developing as a talented artist and was able to move full time into portraiture and horse pictures.     You may well ask why I have not kept this work; the reason is that I already have one of his watercolours "A Horse to Water".      Limited editilon prints were made of many of his watercolours, and it is probable that prints were taken from this one.
Sadly, we lost touch with him, but hopefully he became very succssful in his second career.
It is unmounted and is in very fine condition.    It is signed at bottom right.
