This auction is for a wonderful ORIGINAL ink drawing by Listed Artist GEORGE JAY ROGERS (1938-?)

Several years ago, I purchased a large collection of 1950's and 1960's sketchbooks from the estate of a Rogers family member. Over the next few weeks, I will be listing a large variety of works by Rogers. Please take a look at my other auctions.

I have found little information on Rogers, except for his listing in "Who Was Who in American Art" and his listing on AskArt. I believe that he may have died quite young.

Rogers' work is fascinating, and certainly worthy of further research.

In one of the sketchbooks, I did find a brochure for a 1963 New York gallery show that included Rogers. (The brochure is shown in the two bottom photos, for reference, but is not included in this auction.)

This large drawing is on sketchbook paper, and measures approximately 9" x 12"

Signed at bottom right corner, and dated 1964.
