However, the Rokinon Cine DS 50mm T1.5 Full Frame lens is one of 10 focal lengths that comprise the new Rokinon Cine DS system. Engineered and optimized for cine and video, Cine DS lenses offer additional features including:

• Dual calibrated right and left side distance and T-stop scales that enable an assistant to pull focus and aperture from either side of the lens.
• Unified focus and aperture gear positions for reduced follow focus system adjustment with faster lens changes.
• All of the Cine DS lenses have the tightest color matching to a standard for consistent color and contrast in video production.

The Rokinon Cine DS 50mm T1.5 offers a standard 50mm focal length in the full frame format and a very fast T/1.5 maximum aperture for effective low light shooting, fast shutter speed capture and shallow depth of field control. When used on cameras with an APS-C format sensor its 35mm focal length equivalence is 75mm, on Canon APS-C cameras its 80mm and on MFT cameras its 100mm.

The optical design of the lens consists of 9 elements in 6 groups including one Hybrid-Aspherical element and one Aspherical element to reduce chromatic aberrations. Also, lens elements are coated with an Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and minimize flare and ghosting. Eight diaphragm blades create a circular aperture for more attractive out-of-focus highlights.

Its internal focus system will not extend the length of the lens while focusing and an included petal shape lens hood blocks unwanted light and protects the lens. The aperture and focus rings are smooth and easy to control and bright depth-of-field and distance markings highlight the barrel on both the right and left sides

With a non-rotating front lens element and pleasing bokeh, the Rokinon Cine DS 50mm T1.5 is a high performance prime lens that can unleash the full imaging potential of Full Frame, APS-C and MFT sensor cameras.
