SO HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION:
WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW?
WHY COLLECT THEM?
WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them.
Let me tell you my personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows. I discovered radio shows quite by accident while reading one of my favorite (long since departed) magazines called "Discoveries" (It was later bought by the same company that publishes "Goldmine" which I personally always considered a lesser publication, but that is another story. This was before ebay became the driving force in radio show sales (and everything else) in the later 1990's. I was especially attracted in "Discoveries" to a two page (or more) spread in each issue by a guy called "The Old Hippie". Let me tell you, the Old Hippie had it all. He was a real pioneer. Way before anyone knew what radio shows even were let alone that they could be bought as rarities, he had the market cornered. Most shows that he advertised were way beyond my budget but I drooled over those pages every issue and once in awhile I could afford one or two. Now, I have attempted in my own humble way to take on the mantle of "The Old Hippie". I have listed almost 10,000 unique radio shows of all genres for you all to drool over and most at prices, hopefully, that collectors can better afford! I want to make available to collectors what I could not afford and in these days of higher prices and lesser availability. I have several resources still available to me and I am always receptive to sellers who contact me with bulk amounts of shows for sale. By buying in bulk, even when many are the lesser popular shows, I can offer the best prices in all titles So, again, what is a radio show?
OK guys and gals, A REAL TREAT!!! I am beginning to list more of my GREAT FLASHBACK SHOWS. This is probably the best classic rock show ever to air anywhere. And, while the music can be found anywhere, this show presents music in such creative sets it will please and amaze. You will hear all the best in classic rock for TWO hours on each show, ARRANGED IN GREAT THEMES. Host BILL ST. JAMES, the host from the beginning of the show in the late 80's when still on lp. is a great dj and every show has ONE one hour theme and ONE HOUR HAS THREE or FOUR mini themes. The show comes on 2 CD's (TWO hours) in perfect condition looking just like they were just pressed and played only once, the day they were aired. They come along with their cue sheets in excellent condition. The CD's are quite attractive with The FLASHBACK logo across the top in bright colors as seen in the listing picture. They were produced as a quality item even though they were pressed for this single playing on the broadcast date. These CD's were played only once, the day they aired. One of the most enjoyable and unpredictable features of this great show is that many times during each theme snippets of commercials, news items, interviews, movie soundtracks, tv soundtracks and other entertainment related to the theme is intermixed with the music in perfect relation to the theme. It makes the hour all that much more enjoyable and special. AND, following the last hour are approximately ten tracks of bonus theme material including collages and interviews and entertainment bits all in the clear which make them great for download into your personal collection AND a FLASHBACK STARPACK , a bonus track containing a collage of one group's major work in mix form. Please note that this the TWO hour version of the Flashback show. The show came in two and four hour versions depending on what version the stations wanted. The two hour version contains the first and last hour of the week's four hour version. The cue sheets come with the two hour show just as with the four hour version along with all the extras on the last page of the cue sheet.Of course this two hour version is more economical and is a great show and a great buy for your collection but both versions are readily available in my ebay store. This week's show is #648 in the series and aired on MAY 31, 1999 Exact song listings can be seen in the pictured cue sheets. Even the national commercials are interesting and fun to hear after all these years. You don't have to hear any of those boring local commercials and if you don't like the national commercials just hit the next track and off you go back to the music. This show needs to be in your collection. Get them while you can! Like all other quality shows, these shows are no longer available. Collectors can no longer get their hands on this quality material so the ones that are available keep going up and up in value. Don't worry, though, I will always sell my shows at reasonable prices. I am a collector too and know how hard it is to find a good deal anymore. These shows are super fun and super rare. They are distributed by ABC Broadcasting and are in NEW CONDITION, PLAYED ONLY ON THE DAY OF NETWORK BROADCAST. CUE SHEETS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS WELL. This is the genuine original show that was sent to the radio station for airing. It is NOT an unauthorized copy but the Real McCoy!!! I personally guarantee that every radio show that I sell is the original show sent to stations. You are truly buying a show that will only increase in value and I am selling them at a price very close to what I paid for it. Remember that this and all the radio music shows that you see on eBay are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio and music history. You just aren't going to find these shows around very much longer as everything is now digitized and downloaded for play and shows are no longer sent out on CD's. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price. It is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection. As always, for U.S. and International buyers, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy so the more you buy the more money you will save. Good Luck and God Bless You. |
