Replace it with our improved all-metal thumbscrew instead of the original plastic head screw. (In the photos that accompany this listing, the Boss pedal is shown for illustration purposes.  It is, of course, not included with the improved all-metal thumbscrew)

Also included is a screw protector (grommet) for the pedal.  This is made of durable rubber and fits tightly into the oval hole that the screw goes travels.  

NOTE:  this grommet takes some work to get it seated in the oval hole, but once it is correctly in there it does an excellent job of protecting the screw threads from the repeated stomping on the pedal.  The best way to get your screw protector (grommet) in the hole is to first put in one side of the grommet, then work your way around until it is all the way seated.  Both sides of the grommet should end up laying flat against the pedal, without any bunched up sections.  See the last photo in this listing to see how the grommet should appear when correctly seated (also look at the other side to make sure it is also laying flat)
