Vintage Japanese Matching Gold Zori & Clutch Bag Set for formal occasions…
This is sets includes zori and a matching clutch bag, for use when wearing a kimono. They are of excellent quality and were no doubt expensive when new. This set was made in the 1980’s.
This set is used but has no issues other than that the leather soles of the zori are soiled and show minor wear - they have been priced accordingly. They were most likely used once or twice and stored for many years in original box they came in. See photos for details.
These Zori are a Japanese size 23.5cm, however in Japan, your foot is not expected to necessarily ‘fit’ in the Western sense and it is considered optimal to overhang the heal by a few centimeters.
The bag is made of stiffened brocade and has a clasp fastener and is fully lined with internal pockets and a chain that can be stowed inside when in use as a clutch...
