Material: The badge is made of massive Ural aluminum, cold enamel painted and varnished. (lacquer). Authentic real USSR Badge, military strategic material remnant of the past Epochs of USSR , aluminum metal has artificially gold plating, the legendary Soviet artifact is covered by real Russian cold red ruby enamel. Raised USSR mint mark "MMD" (Moscow Mint / Монетного Двора _ Гос Знак СССР) to the reverse. A nice example of late issue badge, attractive and well-made.
Condition: Excellent collectible condition, guaranteed original USSR badges. Overall condition truly exceptional find. Details are well defined with original finish. A superb example all through. The award retains beautiful luster everywhere. It is was awarded many years ago. A great exemplar to add to your collection!
The item you are bidding on is Brass Russian Paratrooper Regiment. The Badge was made at the Soviet USSR Mint. Non-ferrous aluminum metal alloy, enamel, stamping, gilding. Excellent collectible condition, guaranteed original. Made in aluminum with high quality Enamels. The production of this badges believed to have started after 1924 year. The badge is in good decent condition, at least for an old badge. There are not chips to the enamel. The enamel on the badge however is still intact.
HISTORY REFERENCE of AIR - LANDING TROOPS, MILITARY PARACHUTE FORCES: The Guards Air Assault Division is a division of the Russian Airborne Troops based in Pskov. The division traces its lineage back to the 76th Guards Rifle Division, formed in March 1943 from the 157th Rifle Division for that division's actions during the Battle of Stalingrad. The division fought in the Battle of Kursk, the Battle of the Dnieper, Operation Bagration, the East Pomeranian Offensive, and the Berlin Offensive. Postwar, it was converted into an airborne division. The division moved to Pskov, its current base, in 1949. The division was involved in Black January and the January Events in Lithuania. After the Dissolution of the Soviet Union the division became part of the Russian Airborne Troops. The division fought in the First Chechen War, Second Chechen War and the Russo-Georgian War. The division became an air assault division in 2006. It was involved in the Return of Crimea.
