Stamp is from:  AMERICA'S PATRIOTIC HEROES series, this stamp was part of a set of covers from The Postal Commemorative Society in the late 1980s

CONDITION: Near Mint condition envelope, THE STAMP IS IN MINT CONDITION, and also this envelope was shipped using another stamp which is also in mint used condition, most sheets in this set were mailed out from the historic area where the event depicted took place.

This sheet/stamp/envelope set is from a subscription set released in the late-1980s and featured stamps from around the world depicting important firsts and historical events in transportation history.  The series was released by THE POSTAL COMMEMORATIVE SOCIETY.  Each stamp in this series was 100% authentic and ran live in the original issuing country and this is an uncirculated original stamp that the Society bought up and shipped to its members from famous places where the events took place. 

The stamp is mounted in a plastic holder and on a cardboard card INSIDE the envelope with a window in the envelope to show the stamp.  The envelope is sealed. Also accompanying the envelope and stamps is a separate sheet as shown which details the original historic event AND a brief history on the stamp itself.  A truly beautiful item!
