Vintage Hakata-Ori Koburo Obi


博多織帯


This is a narrow type of Obi called “koburo” or “han-haba”. Beautiful earth-tone stripes on the outside and lovely cloud design on the inside. It is 112” or 286cm in length and measures: 6” or 16cm wide.


This Obi has been lightly worn and has a few very minor pulled threads at the very ends - see photos. Excellent quality.

NOTE: This obi is from a huge lot of vintage items from Kyoto that we have acquired. Some are unused, like new or have stains or other damage so examine the photos and read the description carefully before purchasing to determine the exact condition of this particular item and it’s value to you.

1) EMS Express (INCLUDES TRACKING & Insurance) and is fast and dependable.

2) Standard Air Registered (INCLUDES TRACKING) but has a less predictable delivery time.


If you select Standard Air, note that in some cases it can take several weeks to arrive. All packages sent this way are photographed on the day they leave here.


We are not responsible for any customs duties or import taxes your country may charge - please check on this with your post office.

IMPORTANT: 2020 PANDEMIC SHIPPING NOTE

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.

Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is $30 to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.

Note that as these measures are temporary, we can not change the existing rates for all of our hundreds of listings but will notify you immediately if it effects your purchase.
