Calling Card Case Cathedral Goddess Raven Coin Silver 1850

American coin silver calling card case, likely made by Leonard & Wilson of Philadelphia, c.1850. This elegant case features high relief repousse decorations on both sides. One side has a Goddess in the clouds feeding a raven from her bowl. The other side shows Trinity Cathedral in New York City. Both sides of the case have floral, scroll and shell decorations. The hinge is clean and tight, with the top closing and fitting properly. There is a 3 1/2" long chain & ring handle attached to both sides of the body.

This charming case measures 3 1/2" tall, 2 1/2" wide and weighs 48 grams or 1.5 ozs. Troy.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.

The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
