Ancient Hellenic Caucasus Ceremonial Pitcher and Cups

Hand Crafted museum quality copy

Produced under the authority of St. George International Foundation

Pitcher/teapot is a gorgeous figural depiction of a helmeted ancient - most likely a Greek Warrior - astride a beautiful stallion.  His helmet is the lid of the pitcher/teapot.  He also looks like he could be a Templar Knight?

It is made in the classic method of smoked ceramics and has a food glaze applied (as only a copy would) so it can be used.

They set would normally include two cups, but my friend purchased an extra in case one was ever broken.  She also likes the Asian belief of luck in 3s. The extra cup has the original tag and seal, but its seal is broken - the cup itself is still mint.

Caucasus is a Region in Eurasia bordered on the south by Iran, on the southwest by Turkey, on the west by the Black Sea, on the east by the Caspian Sea, and on the north by Russia

It was the gateway between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea in ancient times and as such incorporated a bit of all cultures.  The Indo-European cultures were a large part of this.  The Hellenic (Greek) culture was particularly important in the development of this area and the histories of Ancient Greece and Caucasia are intertwined.

This ceremonial set is a museum quality copy of earthenware from over 3000 years ago.  It is meticulously handcrafted under the proper authorities to honor this culture.  It is finished via the smoked ceramic technique lending it the gorgeous dark patina and has a food quality glaze applied so it can be used as well as admired.

Most of the tag is written in Greek with very little English.

If you have any further information about this set, please let me know so I can add this to the listing.

I am selling this for a friend who purchased it during travels in Europe and Asia.

Please ask any questions prior to purchase.
