BAC 50 Benzalkonium Chloride Concentrated

Benzalkonium chloride (BAC 50)  is a quaternary ammonium-based product. It can be used for the preparation of disinfectants, cleaners and timber preservation formulations and other similar applications. 

Applications:

- Disinfectant

- Used as a preservative in cosmetics

- Used in formulations of mils cleaners

- Phase transfer agent

- Microbe corrosion inhibition in the oil industry

Directions of use:

The advised dilution ratio is 1:8 (one-part Bac 50 and eight parts of water). It can be as high as 1:40 application dependant.

Spray and leave formula:

Apply the solution to the affected area and leave it to work. If needed, the advised dilution ratio can be increased.

The product must be used on dry surfaces with no rain forecast for at least 8 hours. 

Benzalkonium chloride is readily soluble in ethanol, IPA and acetone. Although dissolution in water is slow, aqueous solutions are easier to handle and are preferred. Solutions should be neutral to slightly alkaline, with colour ranging from colourless to a pale yellow. Solutions foam profusely when shaken.
