They have a special 0.5 micron filter which allows for the passage of air but not unwanted contaminates. They are autoclavable, reusable and can be sealed with an impulse sealer or just tied shut at the ends. Each bag can easily hold 2-3 pounds of substrate. These bags can be used for spawn production to inoculate bulk substrates like straw or compost, or you can fruit your substrate right inside the bag itself. The breathable technology behind these bags provide gas exchange, but exclude water vapor, so your spawn does not dehydrate.
