ECHINOCACTUS GRUSONII- Properly Echinocactus grusonii, Hildm. 1891. Nice little plants of the Golden Barrel Cactus, also known as the Golden Ball Cactus. Native originally to east central Mexico, the states of Queretaro and Hidalgo, these cacti are now "critically endangered" in the wild after the construction of the Zimapan Dam project in the 1990's. Sizes are aprx. 1 1/2 to inches tall or wide. The most commonly cultivated cactus, and one of the most popular and well know cactus. At maturity can reach over four feet. Photos here are stock pictures of specimens we grew and sold in times past, if anything the current offering are a bit more mature looking. Photos shows five plants, just to give an idea of the variation in them, this listing is for ONE (1) plant. It is just not practical to photograph every plant we sell. Great little plants.
