1620 Buxtorf HEBREW Aramaic &
Latin Bible Dictionary Lexicon Judaica Pentateuch
A rare 17th-century Hebrew /
Latin lexicon and Old Testament concordance.
Johann Buxtorf began working on a Hebrew
lexicon in the early years of the 17th-century. However, this work
was one of the few works of his that had to be completed by other writers,
mainly his son. This dictionary, known as ‘Thesaurus Grammaticus Linguae’, was
published multiple times throughout the next two centuries and would become the
basis for many 19th-century Hebrew concordances. This work serves as
a reference tool for Old Testament research particularly the Pentateuch. Very
few copies of this book are known to exist, especially those from the early 17th-century.
