BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  Limpsfield is a village and civil parish in the east of the county of Surrey, England, by Oxted at the foot of the North Downs.  Trevereux, an old house which stands in a park at the south-eastern extremity of the parish, was the residence for nearly two centuries of the Burges family until 1817, when it was purchased by Mr. Cox. It was in 1891 the residence of Mr. A'Court-Repington, and then the seat of Mr. Carmichael Bruce. It is a fine late 18th-century house with a projecting east wing added later.
