These are to release head units with Horizontal Removal key slots in the front of the unit. The easiest way to see if you are unsure of the fitment is to look at the front of your stereo, it will have 4 small horizontal slots on the front of the head unit. 

Simply slide into radio cluster slots (two thin slots) on the left and right of your radio
The tools snap in - pull to remove in just seconds without damage to your radio
There are no modifications necessary.
