The MIA B400CE is the electrified acoustic bass guitar by Eko Guitars, with onboard Fishman Flex Blend system. Featuring a D cutaway shape with Solid Cedar Top, 3-ply laminated Ovangkol back and sides, Okoume neck and Branko Rosewood fingerboard, this bass guitar is well suited for both live performances and studio recording.

EKO MIA B400CE OVERVIEW

The MIA B400CE comes in Natural color with Gloss finish and a Dreadnought cutaway shape, a feature that allows the bassist to easily reach the higher frets. The combination of a Solid Cedar top with Ovangkol back and sides, result of careful research, gives this instrument a wide and always well-balanced tonal spectrum on every single string. A remarkable feature is the presence of the Fishman Flex Blend: a high-performance amplification system consisting of a piezo and an internal condenser microphone, allowing you to capture every nuance of the bass thanks to the possibility of gradually adding the microphone signal to the piezo signal through a Blend pot. In addition to the output volume and the Blend control, the MIA B400ce boasts a Tuner with display, (that can be activated by pressing the volume potentiometer) and an EQ control working in "mid-scooped" mode: set it at minimum for a flat signal, then increase it to gradually reduce the mid frequencies in favor of bass and treble. In case of feedback, a quite common event during acoustic performances, you can invert the phase by pressing the EQ pot. All these features together make the MIA B400ce a suitable instrument in professional contexts, both in the recording studio and on stage.

BRANKO ROSEWOOD

After two decades of research, Blackwood Tek, Algam's partner since 2015, has developed an ecological process, planting short-cycle pine forests in New Zealand (Pinus Radiata), which complies with the requirements of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). The production process ensures that this wood contains little moisture (only about 5%), is dense and resistant to changes in temperature or humidity. This means that it is not affected by the thermal changes that occur during transport, and is immediately ready to be used. By giving Branko Wood a darker color you get a perfect substitute for Ebony, while with a lighter color than Rosewood. Eko Guitars, part of the great Algam galaxy (which in Italy takes the name of AlgamEko), has been using Branko Rosewood on the EVO, MIA and ALPS series since 2021.
