A brief history of Benin Arts and Crafts

• Long before Nigeria was a country or the continent was called Africa, the Benin Empire stood tall in it?s glory and wealth.
• Benin City was renowned for it?s arts and culture, producing arguably the finest art of sub-Saharan Africa.
• In 1555, after the loss of his beloved mother, Queen Mother Idia, Oba Esigia commissioned royal carvers at the Palace to create a bronze piece that would live on forever in her place, putting the Benin arts in the spotlight.
• For centuries, Benin produced a plethora of bronze art and carvings, depicting exploits and narratives that would make it the cynosure of global attention.
• In 1897, when Benin was invaded by the British Naval forces, the priceless artworks were looted and taken to be displayed in cultural institutions around the world. The British museum holds around 700 Benin objects, the greatest of which is a brass head of a queen and an ivory pendant mask

If you change address before getting your shipping notice - please make sure to update us. If you change address after shipping notice, please make sure someone at the old address will pick up the package. 

We cannot be responsible for lost packages due to address change.

Shipping Information

Royal Mail have a maximum weight of 2kg for overseas packages so I will specify any items that exceed this weight. Heavier parcels can be sent by Parcelforce Worldwide & I will supply prices on request.

Please contact me before buying if you require expedited service or enhanced insurance & I will let you know the rates. 

Royal Mail will not accept Tracked/Signed for delivery to overseas PO Box numbers, they require a street address & for certain countries, a telephone contact number.

-Customs duties, VAT & import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

-UK orders are estimated to be delivered between 2 - 3 business days

-Europe orders are estimated to be delivered between 3 - 5 business days

-USA & Canada orders are estimated to be delivered between 5 - 7 business days

-Australia orders are estimated to be delivered between 7 - 10 business days

Listed ship times are only estimates and not guaranteed, all highly depended on postal services/local customs

Returns

Postage or other return costs will be the customer's responsibility and will be reimbursed by us only in the case of damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied goods. The item is your responsibility until it reaches us. For your own protection, we recommend that you select a delivery method that insures you for the value of goods that you are returning. We cannot be held responsible for returns that are lost in transit.

Please note we are a small business so we cannot afford to refund orders where the customers have not notified us in time of non receipt of goods 14 days after the order was shipped.

Unless item arrived damaged - buyer is responsible for returning items in their original condition and all return shipping costs.

DAMAGED ITEMS: If your order arrived damaged, please contact us within 48 hours and keep all of the materials and packaging. We may require additional information or photos to pursue a damage claim

Please notify me first by a convo if you need to send an item back to us. 

Please ensure items are packed securely, and obtain proof of posting.

REFUNDS
Refunds will be made by the same means you paid us once I am satisfied with the condition of the returned item.
