Maiogi Dance Fan
Design:
This elegant fan was made by Tosendo 東扇堂 of Tokyo for performance by members of a Buyo dance school. This fan is silver with a red stylazed character and an “agarifuji” kamon on each side. It has natural lacqured bamboo struts and lead weights. It comes in its original Kiri (paulownia) wood box.
It measures 20” or 51cm from tip to tip when open and is 11½” or about 29cm long when closed. Superior quality, this would be perfect for performances or for display…
Condition:
This fan shows only minor signs of apparent use and has a vintage patina form storage over time. Note that 2 end pieces of the box are missing - one from each the top and bottom: see photos.
Their condition has be carefully taken into consideration in the price so please see photos for details. The first 2 photos show both sides of the fans. Please examine them carefully to be sure you are happy with the fans before making your purchase.
