These were purchased at an unclaimed freight liquidation last year, and they are brand new in the original factory packages. They came with a batch of other oil and gas production equipment, so we are guessing they have something to do with drilling and oilfield production, pumps, etc. Each seal consists of a hard beige polymer male ring on one end, which fits into a hard black ring encasing metal "teeth" of a sort, followed by three (3) sets of hard thin and thick alternating/interlocking rings with sharp edges on the interior and exterior, the last of which rests in a hard beige female ring. Did we lose you anywhere? The black rings are more resilient than the beige ones, however, there is nothing soft or rubbery about any of them. They have a lot of the properties of Nylon, but we do not know exactly what material they are. We never found any online specs for these, but they probably cost a bundle when you buy them from a supplier.
The end beige rings measure 1.997" OD x 1.503" ID, and the center black rings are about 2.052" OD x 1.478" ID, so we are speculating they fit a standard 2" OD x 1.5" ID.
