Title: [Houdini and man on cliff in scene from 'The man from beyond']
Date Created/Published: 1921.
Notes:
As the vaudeville he had known came to an end Houdini moved into silent film. Producer B.A. Rolf signed him to star in a serial that was titled 'The master mystery' and was written by the screenwriters of 'The perils of Pauline.' 'The master mystery' was filmed in Yonkers, New York, and opened at the Strand Theatre on November 7, 1918. Next, producer Jesse Lansky signed Houdini for two feature films, 'The grim game' and 'Terror island.' The advertisement presented here promotes a new stage of the escapologist's film career, the first production of the Houdini Picture Corporation.
