Italy. Published in 1675 Paris, this book, which has been attributed to a
Messina politician, was written to describe the onset of the 1672 rebellion
against the Spanish rule on Sicily, now known as the Messina Revolt. Messina
locals sought the support of France and King Louis XIV, who gave aid until the
end of the revolt in 1678.
