The Wall-Climbing Robot!
This astonishing wall-climbing robot has a motorised air suction system that enables it to walk vertically up and down perfectly smooth surfaces, like glass, plastic, whiteboards, and glossy laminates.
In addition to the Geckobot, you can also build six other models and conduct experiments with suction to learn about air pressure and the mechanical physics of this unique device

How Does It Work?
The battery-powered motor in the Geckobot drives an innovative gear system that produces a rotating motion making the legs move back and forth and up and down, mimicking a real gecko. Two of the feet are touching the wall while the other two feet are lifted off of the wall, in an alternating motion. At the same time, the gear system drives an air pump that creates a vacuum at the two feet touching the wall while blowing air outward at the other two feet. In this way, two of the feet are always holding the model to the wall, while the other two feet are pushing off and stepping forward.
The Models
In addition to the Geckobot, kids can build six other models: an inch worm that really crawls, an industrial robotic arm that can lift using a vacuum suction cup gripper, a smartphone holder that uses suction to hold your phone in place, a tow truck that can pull a small car, a suction gun that will pick up objects just out of reach, and an ellipsograph that can draw a perfect ellipse on a piece of paper!

The full-colour, 24-page illustrated manual provides detailed step-by-step instructions for building the 7 models included in the kit. Also included are detailed troubleshooting tips and in-depth explanations to get your models working and moving smoothly.
What's Inside
The kit comes with 176 building pieces, including suction cup pads for the feet of your Gecko, a motor to get the models moving, and two different pairs of eye stickers to give your Geckobot character! The plastic building system is compatible with other Thames & Kosmos Construction, Engineering, and Physics kits--combine the pieces to create your own configurations limited only by your imagination.
Educational Value
The manual doesn't just provide step-by-step instructions for building the models. It also includes clear and concise explanations for why the models work the way they do. In the 'What's Happening?' and 'Did You Know' sections scattered throughout the manual, kids will learn how suction cups work, why real-life geckos can climb up smooth surfaces without falling off (hint: it's all in their nano structure!), where they might find a robotic arm in real life, and much more.

- Your right to cancel an order can be exercised in writing by using the messaging service before the item has shipped.
- You may return items within 30 days of delivery for a refund.

- You may return any new PC, Notebook, Laptop, Desktop Computer, Tablets, Smart Phone purchased from Trade Lists UK that is "dead on arrival," arrives in damaged condition, or incorrectly advertised, for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
- Trade Lists UK reserves the right to test "dead on arrival" returns and impose a customer fee up to 50% of the product sales price based on the condition of the product if the customer misrepresents the condition of the product.
- Any returned PC, Notebook, Laptop, Desktop Computer, Tablets, Smart Phone that is damaged through customer misuse, is missing parts, or is in unsellable condition due to customer tampering or passwords not removed will result in the customer being charged a higher restocking fee equal to and above 50% of the purchase price based on the condition of the product.
