A very fine certified French violin made by Jean Joseph Honore Derazey ca.1850, branded to the back with the makers brand "H.Derazey". Honore Derazey was a fine maker of important period of French violin making. He started working in Mirecourt, later went in Paris where he worked with different workshops for several years. Ultimately he returned to Mirecourt where he established his business. He was honored medals at several Exhibitions in France and England. J.B. Vuillaume sold instruments made by H. Derazey with his own label. This is a characteristic example of the maker's work in a very good condition. It is beautifully made with inspiration of Stradivarius model. The materials chosen by the maker are of outstanding quality. The sound of this instrument is responsive, balanced, elegant, even with great projection and a beautiful character.
