Here I have something very unique and rare from the 1700s in the Georgian period from England.
In this painting you can see describe a beautiful photo of an old lady wearing a black dress with white show and a bonnet with long white gloves.
On the back of this extraordinary painting is hand written in ink

I have also included a photograph of countess Evelyn Maynard in the mid 18th century. Great great granddaughter of countess greenwood the lady in the painting.
Unfortunately I was unable to get a photograph of countess mitton.
These were very well to do women. Countess Maynard was known for trying to make the rich even richer and to better educate the already educated.
This is an exquisite piece of history that has been hand painted on I v o r y  and is still in its original frame with the original writing on the back of the wooden frame with gold wall hanging.

I was drawn to this painting as it is almost haunting and yet still so beautiful.
the fact that this was hand painted on elephant i v o r y tusk makes this so much more special and fittings to the period.i v o r y has spaces in the word because eBay does not like it listed even though this is perfectly legal as it is an antique. It is only illegal to sell modern pieces.
