This beautiful silver wine ewer was presented to vicar on his leaving the parish in 1899.
It weighs 489 grams and is hallmarked as Sterling Silver on the neck of the ewer. The lid is also part-marked (see image) as is the custom with pieces that are made of more than one part. The handle and the knob on the lid are made from walnut.
From the base to the pouring lip is 9 inches.
The inscription reads:

             REV'd A.M. LITTLEHALES
                            by the
PARISHONERS ON HIS LEAVING SNETTERTON
                     Easter Day 1899.

(Snetterton lies between Norwich and Bury St Edmunds)
