What is Reflux and Regurgitation?
Reflux occurs when the stomach contents leak back into the oesophagus after feeding, with or without regurgitation, while regurgitation or posseting results in the stomach contents reaching the mouth. Both conditions can occur in healthy babies and are usually uncomplicated, with most of them growing out of it by the time they reach 1 year old.

How can Aptamil Anti-Reflux Help?
Thickened feeds are proven to help reduce the symptoms of reflux. Aptamil Anti-Reflux is a new thickened feed made using carob bean gum. It is clinically proven to be thicker on preparation than others and is less affected by the enzymes in saliva meaning that the feed stays thicker in the stomach. It also contains, long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs) which are important for the development of your baby?s brain, eyes and nervous system, and nucleotides which are important for healthy growth and development.

  • Suitable for use as the sole source of nutrition for infants from birth and as part of a balanced diet from 6-12 months. This product should not be used in combination with antacids or other thickeners and is not suitable for premature infants. For enteral use only.
  • When bottle feeding do not allow prolonged or frequent contact of milk feeds with your baby's teeth as this increases the risk of tooth decay. Ask your healthcare professional or dentist for advice. Make sure your baby's teeth are cleaned after the last feed at night.
