The brainchild of the Austin based musician, producer, record label owner and entrepreneur Tim Kerr trying to explore more of his funk based leanings after experimenting with punk and alternative music, Bad Mutha Goose & The Brothers Grimm joined together African Americans and Anglo-Americans on stage performing socially conscious songs – sort of like Parliament Funkadelic meets Sly & The Family Stone. Bad Mutha Goose & The Brothers Grimm spurred giant crowds into a frenzy of uninhibited dancing led by the frantic delivery of the band’s singers Deñia Ridley, Alvin Dedeaux and Billy Pringle (all veterans of the early Austin punk scene), and soon gained a huge local following when they burst onto the scene in the early 1990’s. Presented here is their ultra rare self titled EP featuring the original version of “Be Somebody” plus two remixes and the tracks “Pride,” “Time To Get” and 100%.” All selections newly remastered.
