About  Kayseri Bunyan Rugs

The carpets woven in Kayseri and its surroundings make up the major part of Turkish carpet art. Kayseri carpets fall into two groups: Bunyan carpets and Yahyali carpets. The wrap of Bunyan carpets is cotton and the weaving thread is wool or floss silk. They produced one-of-a-kind vegetable dyed handmade carpets. In Bunyan Kayseri They  DO NOT produce handmade rugs anymore;  For this very important fact this it is a highly collectible piece. It will surely increase in retail value over the years. This is an extremely rare pattern.

What is Dark Side and Light side of the rug ?

We take photos from both ends of the rug. Dark and light side ! What we mean by this is that every hand knotted Oriental rug has a "light" side and a "dark" side.The color entirely depends on how you view the rugs’ nape. The shade intensity from one end of the rug may be very different from what you see on the opposite end— this depends on whether one looks directly into the nape or with the nape. Handmade rugs have a consistency and a shine, which may affect the rug’s color. The colors of a rug will appear either several shades lighter or darker depending on where the viewer is standing in relation to the rug.
