RARE Antique IRON & GLASS Laundry Sink Drain Trap Vent Brass Plumbing McClellan. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.

Amazing original piece of hardware that came out of an antique plumbing collection. Patented 1886, 1888, and last patent date of 1891. Heavy casting marks that read: McClellan Trap Vent / DuBois Mfg Co New York. This vent has a cast iron wagon-wheel-shaped shroud that is fastened with brass screws over an inverted glass bowl. There is an internal aluminum or lead float that still rises and falls to let air into the trap. Glass appears pretty clean and free of chips or cracks. The float is rough around the edges but still seats rather nicely over the inverted inner glass rim, considering it’s 130+ years old. Black painted finish with gold lettering. A 90-degree brass elbow is also part of the setup. This would be an incredibly rare piece to add to an old exposed-pipe laundry setup in a historic space.
