1963 Topps Pete Rose RC Beckett Grade 6.5 (BVG) Well centered sharp corners. Condition is "Like New". Shipped with USPS First Class.

This is recognized by most as the pre-eminent card of the 1960s. It is sure to increase in value over time as Rose is one of the most iconic players of all-time. If he ever does get inducted into the Hall of Fame, the value of the card is likely to increase substantially. This card has sharp corners and is well-centered. Colors are vivid. There are no smudges or marks in the blue area at the top or in the red areas around the faces. No defects on the front or back. It is professionally graded by Beckett (BVG) as a 6.5 Excellent-Mint +. Not sure why this card was not graded as at least a 7 (I have seen many 7’s that don’t look as good as this card). You be the judge… look at the magnified image. This is the only recognized rookie card of Pete Rose. Rose is the all-time hits leader with 4,256 and a member of the All-Century Team. He holds 5 major league records. He was an 17-time all-star and 3-time World series champion. He was the National League MVP in 1973 and World Series MVP in 1975. He won three batting titles. He finished his career with a .303 batting average, 2,165 runs scored, and 1,314 RBIs. He also served as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds from 1984-1989, finishing with a record of 412-373. He was never inducted into the Hall of Fame because he was banned from baseball for gambling in 1989.
