Offered here is a beautiful preserved, precision crafted double cut sheet book form film holder from the turn of the century in pristine condition. This Item was an integral part of photographic history, and most likely of British manufacture. All the parts are here and all operate as they did at the turn of the century. Hinges, clasps, stops and metal holders all are in perfect working order.  It’s a wonderful thing to hold and operate and admire the craftsmanship. This is a real photographic artifact!

The OD dimensions are:
Height: 5 1/2", width: 4 1/4", thickness closed: 3/4"; exposure opening 3'x3".

The mahogany box assembly is amazing and very intricate. The two sides of the hinged book are tongue and groved around their perimeter as a light stoop. The milling on the exposure pull is beaded for easy grasping and it is composed of 5 parts that are rabbet joined. The corners are mitered and finger joined!

All hinges, stops and screws are solid brass and the tin interior parts have original black japaning.  All in all it is of the highest production standards and would be very expensive to produce today.
