The book was purchased from the estate of John Fantucchio, who neatly inked his name, address, and date on this endpaper.  He is a noted local artist in the Washington DC area who passed in 2016.  He was an artist his entire life and had a very interesting life, with noteworthy contributions to comic art: "...you may remember his amazing and beautiful covers on such comic fanzines of the 60's and 70's as Rocket's Blast Comicollector (RBCC), John Fantucchio's iconic and much reprinted cover art for The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom The Collector, The Buyer's Guide for Comic's Fandom (TBG), Fantastic Fanzine and Comic Crusader." (a comic site online).  From his obituary:  "He worked as an artist his entire life - the first 25 years as an illustrator and art director for the Central Intelligence Agency, then founding his own commercial art business, MTTS Studio, in Arlington. He also operated his own art school for 23 years, The Fantucchio School of Art."

The book was inscribed by the author, Fritz Henning, to John Fantucchio.  More on the book and the author below.

The next inscription was made by BEN STAHL, "and Ben Stahl who thru some kind of an accident into this book."  From Wikipedia on Ben: "Benjamin Albert Stahl (September 7, 1910 – October 19, 1987) was an American artist, illustrator and author. He showed precocious talent, winning a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago at age twelve. His artwork appeared in the International Watercolor Show at the Art Institute when he was sixteen. He later taught at the Art Institute, as well as at the American Academy of Art, the Art Students League of New York, Brooklyn's Pratt Institute and at various universities."

The book is fully titled, "The Basis of Successful Art  Concept and Composition".  It is authored by Fritz Henning, and is a First Edition published by North Light Publishers in 1983.  It is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, with the only real wear issue being a line of some substance on top of front dust jacket.  I removed much of it through rubbing, but I didn't want to go further for fear of damaging the jacket.  It likely can be fully removed, or a replacement jacket can easily be obtained.  The book below has clean blue cloth boards with clear white spine letters.  The boards have light edge and corner wear.  There are no markings beyond the endpaper name, address and date of Fantucchio on the front endpaper, and the two inscriptions on the half title page.  208 clean and solidly bound pages.
